openfd was founded on many projects our company made in the last years. here we wanted to overcome some limitations of the usual programming of webbased database frontends with PHP and JavaScript. It sholud be made possible to store your configuration like visibility and size of columns, the fonts and colours everybody prefers, the used filters and the possibility to continue your work at the next day without loosing all the settings you made at the frontend. Also the administrator should have the possibility to give the different users certain rights.

On the other hand you should have the possibility to create quick and easily a first shot of your apllication. Basic working with the database like creating filters and sorting and exporting data should be possible from the first moment.

All of these things you can use in almost every database application we put in the so called framework. So the developer doesn´t have to reinvent the wheel every time or doing stupid cut and paste programming. Also some other useful things were put in these framework like creating graphs or writing serial email.

Abstraction is everything! Let´s concentrate on the on the high level functionality of your application.
